Sharing Day
The purpose of this day is for us to have an opportunity to tell about what God has been doing in our lives throughout the course of this summer/this study. You can share one of your favorite principles and how it has affected your life, you can tell about something God has been teaching you, or whatever you would like to share with us. I'll go first.....
I feel a little sad writing this last post. This study has been difficult for me at times, but it has also been very very good for me. Last year, as I studied Moses, God was really teaching me about contentment. I learned how to be joyful in any situation, and that has really come in handy this summer! A lot of life changes have happened for me in the past 100 days, and it has certainly helped me to know how to be content. But I think in my personal relationship with God I was a little too content...I was lazy. I didn't have a consistent daily quiet time, and my prayer time was weak. Throughout this study, I have been forced to take time out of each day to spend in God's word - and I am so glad. I don't know how I ever lived without it. I feel so close with God. This study has really helped me to develop a stronger relationship with Him. I am so ready to find out what He's going to show me next!
I want to say to all of you who did the study, Thank you!! And to all of you who posted comments, Thank you!! I would log on to this page at least 4 times a day to see if anyone had commented yet. I learned so much from all of you, and I am very grateful for that!
Sarah - thank you for the time and effort you put into this study. Even though I did not have 100% attendance and only commented on some, I enjoyed and received at least one personal lesson from each one I did. This study was the basis of my daily quiet time for the summer. I greatly enjoyed your insights and practical comments. You are very good at making the priniciples 'real'. Thanks again. I look forward to next summer's study!
ReplyDeleteSarah, This study came along at the perfect time for me...you may or may not be aware of my circumstances (having triplets and a 4 y/0, time is always a factor for me. This study was ideal (thank-you Pastor John for telling me about it.) It fit into my schedule perfectly...your insight and wisdom astound me at times. Will you be doing another online study? If so, when? It is so nice to be able to do at study at odd times through-out the day. Best wishes for you and your husband. It was enjoyable and informative to read the posts from everyone else...great opportunity for learning.
ReplyDeleteI just cut and pasted all of the principles and applications and printed them out to review them. These lessons have taught me, brought me closer to Jesus and caused me to depend on him even more. Two of my favorites were: 1. "What is impossible with man is possible with God." 2. "Jesus responds to determined faith to overcome difficulties."
ReplyDeleteSarah, THANK YOU for tackling this project, sticking with it even when your life was hard and doing it with excellence. May God bless you and give you many new opportunities in Illinois.
Sarah, when your mom told me about this study, I thought it would be perfect for one of my nieces. What I didn’t know was that it was for me!! I have never done anything on line before and this was a wonderful beginning for me. THANK YOU. I hope you will consider doing this again next summer :)
ReplyDeleteI looked over all the titles I had given my postings and it made me realize how much I had learned. I think what kept coming out to me was to be prepared, know the scriptures, and speak God’s word with boldness. I need to be still and listen for God’s direction before reacting and be joyful in doing His work. He doesn’t owe me, I owe Him everything. This has helped me so much in thinking about my interactions with my non Christian family and friends when I go to Ct. This study has also helped me to prioritize. I hope this new habit of doing a morning Bible study will continue forever. I am thankful that BSF is soon to start. Without a plan it’s hard for me to stay focused. Thank you again for getting my days started learning more about our Savior and Lord. Thank you for your prayers and I will be praying for you and your family as you start a new adventure in Illinois. Remember Jeremiah 29:11
P.S.Thanks Jane!
The compassion of Jesus is what stands out to me as I look back over what we have studied. He used his compassion for others to reach out and to meet needs and to give truth and to encourage and to correct.... Whatever he did, it was with compassion. That is my desire- that everything I do for him will be with the compassion and power of Christ. I'm asking him to keep reminding that all of the work before me is not about getting the task done, but about the people that need him.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sarah! You have been so faithful and committed! I am amazed and blessed because you kept going even when life was difficult and crazy. I'm glad you can see how God blessed your obedience. And I am quite certain that your example of how this study can be used will be shared with others in the seminars this year. :)
I went on vacation about day 98 and just now checked to see how things ended. The study was really good for my walk with God and gave me ideas about how I could use the internet to help disciple people. You don't necessarily have to be in a church classroom with people to benefit from their insights. If you will leave this blog on the net, I'll encourage people who are looking for a good study to go through it.
