Day 97

August 29
Mark 16:1-8

I searched for 'religious leaders' on google. I found a site that had a huge list of religious leaders including: Mohamed, Buddha, Martin Luther, Jesus, Joseph Smith, and Moses to name a few. All of these people, no matter their views, were very influential and their religions are still present in today's world. But, there is only one religious leader who is still present in today's world. There is one person on that list that differs from all the rest...because He is the only one who is ALIVE!! Aren't you glad you aren't trusting your life to someone who isn't even living?

Principle: Jesus is risen; He is not in the tomb.

Application:
1. Have I examined and believed the evidence of Jesus' resurrection?
2. How has the assurance of Jesus' resurrection changed my thinking or actions?
3. With whom will I share the fact of the Resurrection this week?

3 comments:

  1. Question #3...” With whom will I share the fact of the Resurrection this week?” Sometimes life gets so busy and complicated that I forget to "breathe in Jesus and breathe out the stress" If I don't have Jesus’ presence illuminating me, who would even know that I have something very special to offer. I think I usually go about my week and not even think about question #3. This question reminds me where my focus needs to be and I pray that when The Lord opens the door I will boldly go through it and speak with confidence of His “Amazing Grace”

  2. Question #2: It is impossible to have a relationship with a dead person. I honor Abraham Lincoln, but I never knew him personally. The resurrection means that I can have a personal relationship with Jesus. He can hear my prayers. I can hear his promptings in my mind and heart. We read how the curtain was torn, eliminating the barrier between us and God. Now we read that when we walk through that curtain, there is a living Being who loves us and is happy that we walked into His presence!

  3. As John said the ressurection of Jesus gave me the opportunity to have a relationship with God the Father. He also was the great scarfice so we not longer have to use burnt offering to ask for forgiveness of our sins. Thank you Jesus for the gift of eternal life.
