Mark 5:25-34
Since we have talked alot about healing and faith this study, I'm just going to share another great old hymn with you....
Have you heard the joyful sound?Jesus heals, Jesus heals;
Through the Spirit we have foundJesus heals, Jesus heals.
Yes, He heals the blind and lame,And His pow’r is just the same
As when first to earth He came,Jesus heals, Jesus heals.
He is just the same today,Jesus heals, Jesus heals;
As before He went away,Jesus heals, Jesus heals.
If in Him you safely hide,And His words in you abide,
Ask in faith, you’ll be supplied,Jesus heals, Jesus heals.
Loud proclaim the jubilee,Jesus heals, Jesus heals;
Bear the news across the sea,Jesus heals, Jesus heals.
“Lo, I’m with you to the end”—Blessed Jesus, what a Friend!
One on whom we can depend,Jesus heals, Jesus heals.
Jesus heals and makes us whole,Jesus heals, Jesus heals;
Heals the body and the soul,Jesus heals, Jesus heals.
Yes, He heals the sick and sore,And our suff’ring days are o’er,
Praise His name forevermore,Jesus heals, Jesus heals.
Blow the trumpet loud and long,Jesus heals, Jesus heals;
Chant the sweet, melodious song,Jesus heals, Jesus heals.
“I’m the Lord that healeth thee,”Just believe and you’ll be free,
Praise His name, He healeth me,Jesus heals, Jesus heals.
Principle: Jesus is the source of healing to those who reach out to Him by faith.
Application:
1. From what long-time illness – body, soul, or spirit – do I want healing?
2. Where do I look for the healing I need?
3. How can I bring Christ’s healing to others?

Andrea previously told the story of Pablo, a man we met this past week in Mexico. With the help of a translator I prayed for this man's leg, that it would be healed so that he could work again.
ReplyDeletePhysical healing is secondary to spiritual healing, and my prayer was not the focus of our time spent with Pablo and his family. Our focus was on his and his family's relationship with the creator of the universe. Physical healing is only a means to an end. Jesus' miracles have not been forgotten, but his purpose in coming to earth was for all mankind, not just the physical needs of one generation.
Please pray for Pablo, that he will witness physical healing from God, and then that he will yearn to know that God that healed him.
I like the last line in that hymn, Just believe and you'll be free. This woman's faith is what healed her. Our faith is what will heal us.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jesus that you love each person and will take care of those that have faith.
Today, I spent time and will continue to spend time asking God about a faith that can heal. Is this a faith I have? Sometimes, I think I need to be more like a child in my faith. I have three people in my life who need serious physical/emotional healing, and I am praying for them. Oh, that my faith would bless them! God, help my faith!
ReplyDeleteRe: question #3, I hope and pray that whatever I do or whatever I say, I am pointing those around me to see The Lord. If my non-believer friends and family can Really see a difference in me, maybe their souls will be healed.
ReplyDeleteIn her day this woman was unclean. She wasn't even supposed to be out in the public. She was probably ashamed and didn't want to draw attention to herself. She wanted to be healed so bad that she took a risk and reached out to Jesus to heal her. We need to have that much desire to be healed of whatever we might be ashamed of. Jesus can make us clean. All we have to do is reach out. been there. As far as #3 goes... that's what I long to be able to help others do.
ReplyDeleteThe Old Testament has a prophecy that the Messiah would have "healing in his wings." The hem of his garment would have been where the tassels on his robe were hung. That robe, with arms outstretched looked like wings. Jesus comment about the woman's faith was more than "who touched me?" It was a recognition, "Somebody gets it! Somebody knows who I am!" I pray that I live in the knowledge of His true identity.
